Delicious Lemon Butter Scallops Recipe

These are the best to make on a budget. I learnt making it because of the price I was paying to the restaurants they were charging 3x more the price. So I learnt to cook them from my own.
Then I realized that scallops are the best to cook as they are so simple and easy to make.

The orange part of a scallop is bitter so try to find scallops without the orange/coral colored part attached. It is also known as the roe. Well, some people do like the orange part but if you are making this for the first time then I advice you not to use the orange part.
If you find them with the roe attached then just pull it off. If you want to avoid all these hassle then simply buy frozen scallops.
If you have purchased frozen scallops then you should thaw them.
The voice in your mind says, ” How to thaw the frozen scallops?”
Well in order to do that you need to put the scallops in a bowl of cold water for about 15-20 minutes or you can thaw it overnight in the refrigerator.
Before we start cooking we need to make them dry, we can do it by using a paper towel.
So let’s start cooking.
- Scallops (500 grams)
- Olive Oil (3 tbsp)
- Butter ( 4 tbsp)
- Minced Garlic (3 tbsp)
- Kosher Salt & Ground Black Pepper
- Fresh Parsley Leaves Chopped (2 tbsp)
- Lemon Juice (2 tbsp)
Step 1: Heat olive oil in a large skillet or pan (whichever you have) over medium heat. When the oil starts sizzling then add scallops one by one layer by layer. Don’t overcrowd the skillet.
Step 2: Now rinse salt and pepper according to the taste and fry for 3 minutes on one side ( until a golden crust is formed underneath). Then flip it to the other side and fry for 3 more minutes until you see a crisp layer formed on both sides.
Step 3: Remove it from the skillet/pan and put it in a plate.
Step 4: In this step we will make lemon butter sauce . We need to melt 4 tbsp butter on a pan/skillet. Now add garlic and cook for 1 minutes. Now put the lemon juice in it.
Step 5: Remove the pan from heat and add the scallops back to the pan. So as to mix with the lemon butter sauce.
Step 6: Garnish it with parsley.

Why Did I Choose To Write About It?
One evening I went to a Canadian restaurant. I saw tonnes of dishes like salmon, stuffed chicken, lasagna in the menu. I was very skeptical to choose which one and then on the corner of the menu I saw a name “Garlic Lemon Scallops”.
I had never tasted this dish even I heard the name for the first time so I thought maybe let’s try this one out. And so I ordered it.
It was so delicious. Actually mouth watering would be the perfect word for it. I couldn’t resist my self and went to ask for the cook. I then met him after his shift was over. He told me the whole recipe for it. And that day I discovered a new friend along with a new dish.
We became good friends even I once invited him to my house to show him I tried creating the scallops.
His reaction was, ” Jack, if I don’t watch out you’ll easily replace my job!”
We had a good laugh and this is how I learnt to make it. Fast forward to 2 years…..Today I thought of making this amazing recipe and also sharing it with you guys.

Step 1: Take a large skillet and put it on medium heat.
Step 2: Put the butter in the skillet and let it melt.
Step 3: Add scallops layer by layer to the skillet don’t overcrowd the skillet now rinse with salt and pepper according to your taste. (Note: Make sure you remove the small side muscle from the scallops)
Step 4: Cook them until the side underneath turns golden brown and crispy. You can fry it for 2 minutes and then flip it and wait for the second side to be crispy and brown.
Step 5: Take the scallops out from the pan and put it in a plate.
Step 6: Now make the lemon butter sauce by melting the butter, adding garlic on the skillet and keep stirring and cooking now add the lemon juice. You can also add some salt and pepper to it.
Step 7: Put the lemon butter sauce on the scallops and garnish it with parsley leaves.
Step 8: It’s ready !
