How to make Boudin Balls

Boudin Balls is one of my favorite dishes and the best thing as it’s super easy to make and tastes delicious. Well, let’s first understand what are boudin balls.

What are Boudin Balls?
BOUDIN is a Cajun version of peasant food. Back in the old days, Cajun families held a boucheire, family get together now. Here, they used to butcher a pig. It is made up of cooked rice, ground pork, onions, green peppers, and seasonings. Derive is added to stretch the meat further.

How to get the Boudin Balls to Stick together?
Getting the boudin balls to stick together is pretty hard especially if you are using a store bought boudin. To get the balls to stick together, add some flour to the boudin mixture, as needed so that they stick together well.
How to store Boudin Balls?
You can store the boudin balls in an airtight container and can also refrigerate them for up to 4 to 5 days.

Can you Reheat Boudin Balls?
Yes, you can reheat the boudin balls! Too do so preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Thaw the balls and spread them on a cookie sheet coated with a non stick cooking spray. Place the cookie sheet in the middle rack of the oven and bake for about 15 minutes or until crispy.
Let’s look at the process to make this amazing dish:
Ingredients Needed:
- 1 pound homemade or store bought boudin sausage
- 1 1/2 cups panko bread crumbs
- 2 large eggs, slightly beaten
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
- Vegetable oil, for deep frying
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 Cup ketchup
- 1/4 Cup oil
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce
Now, let’s see the steps to make this dish:
STEP 1-: Take a shallow bowl and into it spread the bread crumbs, evenly.
STEP 2-: Take another bowl and into it add the eggs. Add the salt, cayenne, and hot sauce into the bowl and combine well.
STEP 3-: Now, form ½ inch balls from the boudin sausage.
STEP 4-: Take a large and deep frying pan or cast iron and into it pour the oil. Remember, the oil should be able to emerge the boudin balls halfway.
STEP 5-: Heat the oil over medium heat until it starts to shimmer.
STEP 6-: Now, coat the balls evenly with the prepared egg mixture at first and then cover them with the bread crumbs evenly. Follow the same with the other balls too.
STEP 7-: Now place the balls in the pan, fewer at a time and fry them for about 3 to 5 minutes or until they are light brown.
STEP 8-: When the balls are done remove them and drain them on paper towel.
STEP 9-: To prepare the comeback sauce, take a large bowl and into that combine the garlic powder mustard salt and pepper. Mix well.
STEP 10-: Now, add the mayonnaise, ketchup, oil, water, Worcestershire sauce, and the hot sauce into the bowl.
STEP 11-: Mix it well using a wire whisk until all of them are well combined and fully incorporated.
