Baking gives me peace; it calms my nerves and I get an indescribable joy when I bake. It’s like I don’t care about what is going on around, and I’ll just be engrossed in baking.

My family considers me an ace baker and looks up to me for satisfying their uninvited and wicked sweet tooth. In return, I surprise them with my unique desserts and receive high praise. 

Well if you ask me, then their praises are my motivation.

Birthdays are supposed to be that special occasion when everyone pampers you, and you are treated with delicacies and presents all day long. 

No birthday is ever complete without a cake and I never order it from a bakery. I prefer baking my own cake with the flavors everyone loves.

This year, I baked a cake for my Brother’s birthday. He is a chocoholic and has a huge stock of chocolates always ready in his drawer.

If something he has forever been loyal to, then it has to be chocolates. 

So, I decided to bake a cake using one of his favorite chocolate and surprise him. 

The result. He was spell-bounded and praised me .

I know, my family will now ask me to bake it for them every time for desserts till they reach their exhaustion point which is nowhere near.

So here I am sharing my recipe of Butterfinger Poke cake to make your dessert time memorable.

What is Butterfinger?

Butterfinger is a candy bar manufactured by the Ferrara Candy Company, a subsidiary of Ferrero. The bar consists of a layered crispy peanut butter core covered in chocolate.

It is a very popular chocolate bar enjoyed by everyone across the globe.

What is a Poke Cake?

A poke cake is simply a cake that has holes poked in it and those pokes are then filled with some sort of sweet deliciousness.

They got popular in the 70’s when cake mixes were gaining popularity.

How to make a Butterfinger Poke Cake?

Fret not. This cake is incredibly simple to make and you don’t need to be a professional baker to bake cakes. You just require the right recipe.

INGREDIENTS REQUIRED

  • 1 box fudge marble cake mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 ¼ cups water
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 jar caramel topping
  • 1 large bar Butterfinger candy
  • I tub thawed cool whipped topping
  • Chocolate syrup (optional)

TIME TAKEN

Preparation Time – 10 minutes
Cooking Time – 30 minutes
Total Time –   40 minutes

Here are the steps to make this amazing cake:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F and grease or spray bottom only of 13*9-inch pan with a non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Prepare the cake as directed at the back of the box and bake according to cooking times mentioned on it.
  3. Once the cake is done, allow it to cool for a few minutes at room temperature.
  4. Add sweetened condenses milk and caramel topping in a medium-sized bowl and mix thoroughly.
  5. Start poking holes in the cake with a cake. Poke plenty of them. You want a lot of crevices for the caramel mixture to go into
  6. Drizzle the entire caramel mixture over the cake and put it in the refrigerator for cooling.
  7. Once it is cooled, spread whipped topping evenly all over it.
  8. Finally, sprinkle some Butterfinger candy and chocolate syrup all over it and serve.

Some Important Tips

If you are not using the cake immediately after pouring the whipped topping, then keep it in the refrigerator until required.

If you want, you can use other candy bars instead of Butterfinger.

Make sure your cake is completely chilled before serving.

If you want, you can fill in the crevices of the cake with custard or chocolate fillings instead of caramel one. They’ll anyways taste great.

Most important tip- Do not eat the chocolate bar in the process of baking (Just Joking).
